Please note that directions given from your GPS may be inaccurate, the directions below should be used in conjunction with map/GPS:

From the South:
  • Take the Stroud/Gloucester exit off the Pacific Hwy (between Raymond Terrace and Taree).
  • Continue along Buckets Way to Gloucester (76km), passing Booral, Stroud and Stratford.
  • Approaching Gloucester Township, follow signs to Taree (Right on Philip St, left on Ravenshaw St and right onto Buckets way).
  • Start speedometer once on Buckets Way (all km stated are approximate)
  • After 4km along the Buckets Way, turn left just after Mograni Lookout (Signposted ‘Altamira 26’).
  • At 8.4km, turn left over train-bridge (signposted ‘Altamira 21’).
  • At 11.8km you will reach a rail crossing, 20.4km a cattle grid onto dirt road and 24.4km another cattle grid.
  • The first entrance to Altamira (suitable for 4WD only) is 300m after the second cattle grid on the right.
  • For the second entrance to Altamira continue along road and veer right at fork in the road onto Bakers St Bundook.
  • Turn right into Bakers Creek Rd and continue for 2km. Altamira on right.
